A letter from the owner: E.G. Hathaway
For me, this journey started 37 years ago. I began as a gymnast in 1979, at the age of 6. I quickly fell in love with the sport and was competing regionally by age 7. As I grew, so did my skill set and my passion. It wasn’t long before my life revolved around gymnastics. I began coaching at the age of 17 when I was nearing the end of my competitive athletic career. I knew how much the sport meant to me and everything that it had given me in my life, I wanted to share that with other people. It wasn’t long before I realized that this was my true calling. In the past 25 years, I have coached all over the country from Rochester, NY to San Diego, CA. I have worked alongside past Olympians, Olympic coaches, National Training staff, as well as many collegiate coaches and athletes. I have always been hungry to learn more about the sport and the science behind it.
One day while I was sitting on the couch with my wife as she was generating billing reports for a program we were running for somebody else, I knew that it was time for us to take the leap and open our own facility. I was surprised at the amount of support that we received. The customer loyalty that we have earned from a small program that we poured our hearts into and built up from nothing is heartwarming. It only serves as confirmation that we are on the right path. Our passion, commitment to excellence, and dedication to our customers will hopefully continue to build a reputation for Fortis Gymnastics Academy.
I would like to thank everyone who has supported Fortis in it’s first year, and those who continue to support us. We wouldn’t be where we are without you!
